4 Self-Care Lessons We Could Learn from Bella Thorne Post-Breakup

Bella Thorne‘s personal life has been a bit of a rollercoaster this summer. It started when the Scream star and her longtime boyfriend Gregg Sulkin mutually decided to part amicably just a few weeks ago, as their separate schedules made it difficult to grow their relationship. And just this week, Bella confirmed to curious fans that she does indeed identify as bisexual, replying “Yes” in a Twitter exchange with a fan who asked based on a Snapchat of Bella kissing another woman (fans speculate that Bella is actually dating name-twin Bella Pendergast, the woman she was seen kissing and who happens to be her older brother’s ex-girlfriend *thinking face emoji*). Whether or not she’s back in a relationship, we commend Bella for sharing her steps to healthy self-care after her breakup with Gregg.

Here are a few ways we could learn from her post-breakup routine:

1. Make time for yourself no matter what. “Finally back on my #grind,” Bella captioned a photo of herself hitting the gym at the studio where she shoots. “So happy they have a studio gym…considering I basically live at this lot!” Bella’s point is an important one — always make sure to schedule time to take care of yourself, whether physically or mentally, even if it’s the last thing you want to do. You’ll never regret doing it, but you’ll probably regret not.

2. These words speak for themselves. Now, on the heels of a breakup, this could very possibly be a subtweet kinda’ Instagram, and we can’t say we don’t love it if it is. But more importantly, Bella reminds herself and us to SHOW UP, because if you don’t, how can you expect others to?

3. Lean on your friends. In this case, your siblings, but nonetheless, remember to tap into your support network in times of need, because who are we without them? “@dani_thorne is the #boldandbeautiful light of my life,” Bella writes on this pic of them goofing off.  “My world would be dark without you in it.”

4. Set goals. Bella posted a photo of a time when she presumably felt better about being in her own skin, writing, “My #mondaymotivation is to get my bod back in this shape.” Even if we can’t see a difference between the beauty here and in current pics, all that matters is that she is setting out to achieve something she wants, and as we can see from her dedication to hitting the gym, she is going for it.
