16 Accessories Every Style Blogger Rocked in 2015 (That You’ll Still Want to Wear Now)

Another year bites the dust! With 2015 officially in the books, there’s no better time than right now to take a stroll down memory lane and look back at the accessory trends that had us all double-tapping over the past year. (Love them or hate ‘em, odds are you fell victim to at least one of these savvy street-inspired looks.) From the It bucket bag that every blogger on the block just had to have to the mirrored sunnies that dominated your Insta feed during the summer months, take a look at these 16 accessories that practically went viral in 2015, and still have a place in our 2016 closets.

1. Bright Monochromatic Sneakers: When it came to your sneaker game, the more colorful and vibrant, the better. Neon green kicks with a violet skirt and a loud orange topper? No prob. (via @monlinglee)

2. Cool Girl Pins: Quirky pins and patches allowed you to upgrade the lapel of your favorite denim jacket or leather topper just like that. From a Barbie pink convertible to a sprinkle-coated donut or even your favorite emoji, your #POTD (pin of the day) spoke volumes. (via @nicolettemason)

3. Furry Clutches: Going hand-in-hand with soft teddy bear coats and fuzzy steppers, furry clutches added a playful twist to many street style looks. Check out how Ella Catliff styled her ombre-colored bag with a chic vinyl dress and printed blouse for Paris Fashion Week. (via @lapetiteanglaise)

4. Bandana Scarves: A little bit Parisian, a lot cool-girl-in-training, skinny bandana scarves were the hero piece in disguise that made morning dressing a cinch. Period. Whether effortlessly tied around the neck, in your hair or around your wrist as a subtle accoutrement, bandana scarves had the power to kick any #OOTD up a notch (or two). (via @weworewhat)

5. Body Chains + Layered Necklaces: Body chains ruled supreme on both the red carpet (we’re looking at you, Laverne Cox) and on the street chic scene. Whether teamed up with a plunging neckline or layered pendant necklaces, this slightly risqué statement piece never had a dull moment. (via @sincerelyjules)

6. Fanny Packs: This past year, it officially became cool again to sport fanny packs. Not only were these portable, hands-free pouches a practical way to tote around just the essentials, but they instantly added pizzazz to every off-duty look. (via @torigonzales_)

7. Dainty Finger Jewels: Whether you stacked ‘em or wore just one, dainty finger jewels became the (more minimalist) equivalent of arm parties. AKA, every style blogger sported them in snapshots just like this one. (via @thriftsandthreads)

8. Mirrored Sunnies: It didn’t take long before everyone was gung-ho for mirrored sunnies. For a dramatic summatime look, Dior’s “So Real” shades became a favorite among the high-fashion crowd, while a slew of colorful, beach party-ready options conquered the fast fashion scene. (via @lustforlife)

9. Lace-up Flats: Tired of seeing these bad boys yet? Lace-up steppers (especially in black) were all the rage this past year. Whether styled up with boyfriend jeans, button-front skirts or high-waisted shorts during the summer months, these flats were simply everywhere. (via @viennawedekind)

10. Bucket Bags: Don’t expect bucket bags to be going away anytime soon. While Mansur Gavriel’s streamlined + minimalist Italian leather bucket bags remained a blogger favorite, their line of crossbody bags, miniature backpacks and totes also continued to gain traction. Mark your calendars: spring 2016 brings the debut of four new silhouettes from the NYC-based brand (circle bags FTW!) and a footwear line. (via @zhuzhulifenotes)

11. Monochromatic Accessories: When in doubt, matching your belt to your clutch to your chic stompers was the #lazygirl way to look totally put-together with little to no effort. Who knew that monochromatic everything could look so good? Not us. (via @songofstyle)

12. Over-the-Knee Boots: Thanks to OTK boots, fighting the elements in style became a smidge easier during last winter’s polar vortex. These statement-making stompers continue to read right now when paired alongside mini dresses, skinny leg jeans and asymmetric hemlines for an entrance-making look. (via @stylescrapbook)

13. Retro Shades: If you weren’t rocking reflective lenses, then odds are you were sporting retro shades, such as these so expertly modeled by the Man Repeller herself. For an old-school glamour look, bold cat eyes, colorful frames and round styles were an easy way to inject some major personality into your daily getup. (via @manrepeller)

14. Mega Statement Earrings: Tasseled or bejeweled, mega statement earrings were the easiest way to add a little extra somethin’ somethin’ to your daytime or after-hours look. (via @kristarobertso)

15. Mini Bags: Gone are the days of toting around one crossbody bag at a time. In fact, it became the norm to sport not one, not two, but multiple mini bags for a punchy look. (via @chiaraferragni)

16. Athletic Sneakers: It didn’t matter if you were hitting the gym or running errands across town — athletic sneakers were the key to pulling off an athleisure-inspired look. Even It-girl bloggers like Blair Eadie resorted to sporting colorful New Balance kicks for a considerably more sporty vibe. (via @blaireadiebee)
