Thanks to social media, we watched actress Shailene Woodley arrested on Facebook Live yesterday. She’s in the Dakotas protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline, which would see hundreds of acres of land damaged or destroyed. Now it looks like just as fast as she was in, the The Fault in Our Stars actress has been released.
The outspoken star’s rep confirmed to People Magazine that Woodley had been released from prison in a statement saying, “Shailene Woodley has been released from the Morton County Jail in North Dakota. She appreciates the outpouring of support, not only for her, but more importantly, for the continued fight against the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline.”
Since re-joining social media earlier this year (after deleting her IG back in 2014), the star has been a vocal campaigner for social issues, as well as sharing her support for former presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders. We hope to continue to see the actress stand up for what she believes in, and keep using her social media platforms to share the information with her fans!
