Amy Schumer’s Reaction to Being Nominated for Six Emmys Is Funny AF

The 2016 Emmy Awards are tonight (7pm/6c), and while it’s sure to be a great night for everyone in the history-making group of totally diverse nominees, Amy Schumer, who has six nominations to speak of, just might have the best night of all.

Though the actress has been in some hot water lately (first for a controversial chat with gal pal Lena Dunham, then for her own brow-raising Tweet), tonight promises to be a high for the funny gal. It will certainly be a far cry from the day back in July that she found out she was up for the awards, which include outstanding lead actress in a comedy series (Inside Amy Schumer), outstanding variety sketch series (Inside Amy Schumer), outstanding variety special (Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo), outstanding guest actress in a comedy series (SNL), outstanding writing for a variety special (Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo) and outstanding writing for a variety series (Inside Amy Schumer).

As the comedienne explained via Instagram today, she was extremely sick when she got the news, so her utterly hilarious hot mess of a reaction (which was luckily captured on film), was a natural one.

“The day I found out I was nominated for six Emmys, I was so sick. And now they are tonight!” she wrote, adding, “#balmain.”

In the clip, a messy-haired, makeup-less Amy is seen blowing her nose into a tissue before flopping back onto a bed.

“How do you feel?” a male voice (maybe BF Ben Hanisch, who she may or may not have trotted out for damage control last week?) asks. “I feel so excited,” Amy says.

“I can’t tell, your face is between…” he begins, as he zooms in on his lethargic subject. “Oh, that’s excitement.”

Amy, you are too much, girl!

Here’s to hoping you’ll be feeling much better as you potentially accept some of those awards tonight!
