You Need These Caitlyn Jenner Pieces to Take Your Summer Dresses into Fall

Now that we’re at peak summer time, we already know how to live by the style hacks that transform our airy spring clothes into summer-ready outfits (like Amy Poehler’s unexpected yet awesome pairing of pastels with neon pumps). But with fall creeping up around the corner, we’re starting to plot ways to make our vacation-bound wardrobes feel genuinely September-worthy (or on a more immediate note, take them effortlessly from day to night). At a concert last week in LA, Caitlyn Jenner showed how to do just that using edgy pieces you already have in your closet. Yep, it’s officially time to break out the leather.

Stepping out onto the stage at a Culture Club performance at the Greek Theater, the brand-new grandmother and I Am Cait star showed that you only need two leather essentials to get you through transitional weather dressing: a cropped moto jacket and knee-high heeled boots. When worn together over something light or bright, like a flowy lace frock, a printed beach cover up or Caitlyn’s ribbed day dress, the leather pieces add just the right amount of heft and refinement to your look, no other accessories needed (that is, unless you really want to make a statement with the accessory of the moment, a “Bad Blood”-approved harness). Considering this duo has long been deemed fashion girl go-tos for adding instant fall flare, you should need no more convincing that Caitlyn’s style cues are totally on point.

Even if temps haven’t taken a nosedive yet, try buddying up to one piece or the other right now. A moto jacket works like magic to turn up your tired summer work uniform, while sleek leather boots are the only thing you need to make your desk-to-dinner look happen. Oh, and there’s even a way to fake Caitlyn’s blowout in the time it takes for your Lyft to pull up.
