Up Your Camping Gear Game With Engraved Camp Mugs

We’re in the thick of summer, and you know what that means: camping, in any and all forms. Whether you’re glamping with your girlfriends in the next town over or braving it alone on the Pacific Crest Trail, one thing’s for sure — you’re going to need some gear. A good place to start is to DIY your very own camp mug! We put together an Engraved Camp Mug Kit so you’ll never be without a true camp essential.

I’d venture to say the completion of this DIY warrants a spontaneous camping trip with lots and lots of hot cocoa and marshmallows. For research purposes, of course ;)

Materials (kit available in our shop!):

— engraving pen

— practice piece

— camp mugs

Materials (not available in our kit):

— permanent marker

— nail polish remover

Get your materials together (or purchase a kit!), and let’s get started!

Instructions:

1. Practice engraving on the practice piece provided.

2. Draw your design directly onto the camp mugs.

3. Trace over your design with the engraving pen. Experiment with line weight by going back over some lines to make them bold.

4. Clean any leftover marker using the nail polish remover and a paper towel.

Get used to engraving by practicing on the practice piece provided.

Draw your designs directly onto the camp mugs in permanent marker. If you make a mistake, you can always clean up your design with some nail polish remover.

Trace over your design once with the engraving pen. Experiment with line weight by thickening some lines to create a bold look.

Wipe any remaining permanent marker away with nail polish remover and a paper towel.

You’re all finished! Give your mugs a good cleaning before using them.

Now who wouldn’t want to warm up by the fire while sipping from these awesome camp mugs?
