9 Tips for Hosting the Best Galentine’s Day Brunch

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and whether you have a boo or not, it’s important to celebrate Galentine’s Day (à la our role model, Leslie Knope). What’s not to like about an excuse to celebrate ovaries over brovaries, or uteruses before duder-uses? Make it a daytime soiree and invite all your besties. Leslie says to celebrate it on February 13, but we think it’s okay to celebrate with your friends any day of the year.

1. Send Invites ($5): Start by sending your gal pals a Valentine with the pertinent details printed on an awesome Galentine’s Day-themed invite.

2. Plan the Decor: Whether you choose to decorate with pink and red or go glam with gold, set a scene to get everyone in the mood. Blooms will make the room feel romantic, while gold touches will create a festive atmosphere. Want this gold chevron sequin tablecloth? Consider renting a runner or tablecloth for your fiesta. 3. Heart Garlands ($12): If you’re hosting a last-minute party, string up these garlands for fun and easy decorations.

4. Keep the Theme Going ($3): Spread the Leslie Knope gospel far and wide by greeting each guest with a Galentine at her seat.

5. Hearts-a-Plenty: We’re suckers for anything heart shaped. Use a heart-shaped waffle iron to make everyday waffles feel extra special. (via Meg Perotti)

6. Set Your Menu: For an easy brunch menu, stick to the basics, like a strata, which pairs well with fresh croissants and a simple spinach salad with pomegranates. (via The Endless Meal)

7. Add Boozy Beverages: Galentine’s Day wouldn’t be complete without festive beverages, like this Pomegranate White Tea Fizz. (via Brit + Co)

8. Serve Sweets for Your Sweeties: Keep the theme going with a cute sweets table, and load it up with your guests’ favorite treats. (via Hostess With the Mostess)

9. Spice up Coffee or Hot Chocolate: Serve coffee or hot chocolate with a little something extra, like these chocolate-dipped spoons. (via JavaCupcake)
