How to Get Motivated for Mondays in 6 Steps

Monday really gets a bad rap. Today, we’re Monday’s cheerleaders. With the help of Folgers® Coffee, we’re bringing you six life hacks to start the day off right. Before you know it, Monday might just be your favorite day of the week. Maybe.

Lucky for us, Folgers® Coffee is here to help us ban the Monday AM blues. After all, they’ve been “The Best Part of Wakin’ Up” since 1850, so it’s safe to say they’re authorities on the subject. No matter how we take our coffee — in a French press, via K-cup® Pod or in a traditional coffee maker — we can count on Folgers to deliver on our first cup of the day. 1. USE A CHEEKY DIY TRAVEL MUG FOR COFFEE ON THE GO

Sometimes adding little joyful moments can make or break a morning. Why not make your sacred first cup of coffee even more perfect by housing it in a cheeky DIY travel mug? Scroll on for the DIY and printable.

Materials + Tools:

— “MOTIVATION INSIDE” printable (download it here!)

— white ceramic travel mug

— porcelain paint

— cutting mat

— utility knife

— paintbrush

— straightedge

— tape

— disposable plate

— water for paintbrushes

Cut “MOTIVATION” and “INSIDE” into long straight strips using the utility knife and straightedge, then carefully cut out each letter. This will serve as a stencil for your porcelain paint.

Tape each word to the tumbler in a straight line.

Mix your porcelain paint, then carefully paint on two layers.

Once the paint has dried, slowly peel off the stencil. Use your utility knife to touch up the letters if necessary, then bake in the oven at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.

Pro Tip: Put the tumbler into the oven *right* when you turn it on. Ceramic can crack if it’s transferred from a cold to a hot environment too quickly.

2. BREW COFFEE THE NIGHT BEFORE

It’s all about finding time efficiencies without compromising your need-to-haves — like your morning caffeine fix. Brew coffee the night before, refrigerate it, then add milk and sugar in the morning for a quick-to-go iced coffee that’s ready when you are! Just like that, you earned yourself a few extra minutes of shut-eye, or possibly time to *finally* try out that new hairdo.

3. MAKE COFFEE ICE CUBES FOR RICHER ICED COFFEE

If you’re reaching for the iced coffee, try this genius hack: Swap regular ice cubes for coffee ice cubes. Make a batch the night before for an extra-strong and satisfying cuppa tomorrow morning.

4. ADD CINNAMON TO YOUR COFFEE

If you ask us, the perfect morning is a healthy blend of tried and true rituals and treating yourself to something special. Try adding cinnamon to your coffee for a flavorful and refreshing twist to your usual cup of joe. We paired it with Folgers Flavors® Coffee Enhancer Hazelnut for a decadent morning drink.

5. WEAR AN OUTFIT YOU FEEL AMAZING IN
