Illustrator Jason Polan is an artist on a quest to make an illustration out of everyone in New York. Yes, all 8.4 million of them — quite a noble pursuit. Where does he do his portraits? Well, everywhere from the subway to Times Square to coffee shops to Central Park. Sometimes he draws individuals, sometimes groups and every once in a while, if you’re really, really lucky, he’ll design some shoes — like this collaboration with Soludos. His crafty, quirky drawings can grace your feet all summer long.
Here he is drawing the Naked Cowboy in Times Square. There’s no bad place to start when you’re trying to draw all New Yorkers. We totally wish we could be there to see his renditions of us.
With Jason’s quest to draw all of New York, we’re surprised and super glad that he found time for this awesome collaboration. We can’t wait to see all of New York penned out and on display.
What do you think about Jason Polan’s quest? How long would a project like this take?
