If you thought that Liberty of London x Target collab was a printed masterpiece, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. No stranger to a high-fashion collaboration, the department store giant has just announced that they’ll be releasing a collection with Lilly Pulitzer this spring. Even though you might still be sporting a down coat and gloves, one glance at this collection will have you seeing visions of pool parties and summer vacays.
While some collaborations have certainly been priced higher than what you’d usually be prepared to spend at Target, this mega 250-piece collection of hyper-patterned apparel, beauty and home decor ranges from $2-$150 in price, with nearly 200 of those items falling under the $30 mark. As if that wasn’t enough to get you stoked for spring, this is also the first collaboration that will include plus sizes.
If you’re not already familiar with the Queen of Prints, Lilly (who passed away last year) was a Palm Beach hostess and socialite whose husband owned several citrus groves. Lilly would turn her husband’s fresh oranges into juice, which she sold at a juice stand off posh Worth Avenue. Never wanting to look anything but fashionable, she created quirky printed shift dresses to wear while working at the stand so that the patterns would camouflage the juice spills (our kind of girl!). Her prints eventually caught the attention of icons like Jackie Kennedy, and the rest is history.
If you’re thinking about skipping the eminent overnight camp-out and aggressive online shopping and just splurging on some these goods through the brand itself, think again. You won’t be able to find these goodies in Lilly’s namesake shop. The collection includes 15 exclusive prints, all of which are original works of art created by Lilly Pulitzer artists specifically for Target.
Mark you calendars people: April 19 is when this collection will hit (and inevitably immediately sell out of) stores. We *do* have months to wait, but there are a few items we’ve already got our eye on: a printed hammock, pom-pom lined lounge chair, multiple vibrant swimsuits, endless cotton frocks and the most festive table setting we’ve ever seen.
Okay fine, we’re eyeing it ALL.
