There’s one classic from the earlier aughts that has yet to jump on any sort of Fuller House nostalgia bandwagon and make a proper sequel, and that’s Mean Girls. Sure, maybe we should just leave well enough alone. But while Rachel McAdams and Tina Fey were busy glamming it up on the Oscars red carpet, and Gretchen Weiners herself, Lacey Chabert, just posted the cutest pregnancy announcement ever, this Mean Girls trailer mashup appeared and has created a tense and tragic love story between Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) and Janis Ian (Lizzy Caplan). And we sorta wanna see it. Like, now.
Okay, we know it’s not real, but wasn’t it a total heart-string tugger!? Created by Mashable as part of their “Trailer Mix” series, the cleverly reimagined movie shows how difficult it can be to try to navigate high school, especially when you’re maybe struggling with your young sexual identity.
2004 wasn’t that long ago, but it’s amazing to think about how far society’s come since then. We can’t help but think this movie would be a hit nowadays.
