Starbucks Just Introduced a Limited Edition Barista Originals Menu

From chestnut praline lattes to salted caramel mochas, Starbucks’ seasonal fall drinks are everything, but still, there are those days you just feel like shaking things up a bit, areweright? The coffee giant is one step ahead of us, per usual, anticipating our needs before we knew what they even were. And no, it has nothing to do with serving up BEER (which is totally happening, BTW). Introducing Barista Originals, Starbucks’ latest game-changing menu, which features fresh new takes on our fave fall classics as concocted by ― you guessed it! The baristas themselves ― but you’ll have to hurry to enjoy them.

Available for two consecutive weekends, from October 13-16 (that’s now, so run!) and October 20-23, over 7,500 US locations will dish out yummy creations made by the people that serve them up to us daily.

Baristas across the country were asked to submit their best, most imaginative variations of fall classics via social media. Nothing was off-limits, and they were free to experiment with coffees and teas, both hot and cold, and blended beverages (like the Frappuccino) too. “We wanted to tap into our baristas’ beverage artistry by giving them the opportunity to create new fall-inspired drink recipes to share with customers in their stores,” explained Starbucks marketing manager Sarah Spencer.

The entries poured in, 20 of which were eventually selected and tested out at Starbucks HQ. From these, five were chosen to be featured as Barista Originals around the country. They are… *drum roll, please*:

  • Breve Cold Brew + One Pump of Pumpkin Spice
  • Chai + One Pump Pumpkin Spice + One Pump Cinnamon Dolce
  • Salted Caramel White Chocolate Mocha
  • Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino, Affogato-Style
  • Flat White + One Pump Cinnamon Dolce + One Pump Pumpkin Spice

OMG, how delicious do those all sound? And it gets even better! In addition to the five mouth-watering winners, stores and local baristas are also being encouraged to feature their own custom concoctions and to share their recipes on social media with the hashtag #BaristaOriginals.

As for us coffee lovers, all we have to do is order the limited edition drinks, close our eyes and enjoy every sip we take. Seriously, we can’t wait to see (and taste!) what our local baristas have come up with — speaking of which, it’s time for a coffee run!
