Find Out Why These Adjustable Sandals Are the New TOMS
Get ready to be inspired. The charitable, big-hearted folks at Because International are about to make life safer and easier for hundreds… no, thousands… maybe even millions of children in need. They developed adjustable sandals, appropriately called The Shoe That Grows, that are not only for children to wear today, but for up to five years to come.
As they let Bored Panda know, “There are over 300 million children who do not have shoes and countless more with shoes that do not fit.” While hand-me-downs are always appreciated, The Shoe That Grows will stand the test of time. Just two pairs of shoes, one small and one large, will take a child from kindergarten to the ninth grade.
The sandals are simple to use. So, while the idea is a stroke of genius, figuring out how they work is easy.
The shoes not only make life more comfortable, but also protect the kids wearing them from bacterial and parasitic infections.
Following their own motto of practical compassion, they’re making it simple to get involved. Donations are starting at $10 to help fill a duffle bag, or you can purchase one pair of shoes at $30.
We’re happy to report that they are currently sold out, but they’re hard at work on the next batch. In the meantime you can take a more hands-on approach by volunteering.
