Apple Rumor Roundup: Should You Get This Year’s iPhone?
We’ve been following all the rumors leading up to next week’s Apple event for well over a year now. So, suffice it to say, we’re pretty excited about everything that Apple will be revealing — especially the new iPhones. However, rumors are already swirling about the iPhones Apple is expected to release next year, which got us thinking: Should we even be that excited for the big reveal next week? Well, yes… and no. Here’s why:
Yes! If the rumors are true, there is going to be a ton more storage available on the iPhone 7. Other rumored features include a dual-lens camera, longer battery life, complete removal of the headphone jack, super fast charging capabilities and the option of three different sizes. The phone will also probably come in five colors, including brand-new Glossy Black.
No! The 10th anniversary iPhone is rumored to be BIG. Some predict that next year’s iPhone will have iris scanning to unlock your phone. The “iPhone 8” could also have wireless charging and a wraparound, larger screen. Apple may even choose to completely remove the home button in favor of a touch-sensitive casing.
Basically: If you like the phone you’ve got now but just want it to do a bit more, this could be your year. Otherwise, the big new innovations will probably take another year to arrive. But, either way, we won’t know exactly whether or not it’s prudent to upgrade until Apple unveils its new device next week. Stay tuned, and we’ll be sure to let you know our final consensus.
