Calvin Harris Is FINALLY Giving Taylor Swift Credit for the Song She Co-Wrote
Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift have had a rocky relationship, to be sure. What began as a love story for the ages (that swan floatie, tho) quickly soured when the two broke up and Tay moved on to another British lad, one Mr. Tom Hiddleston (who, BTW, she might secretly be back together with).
Things got even worse when Taylor decided to take ownership of the song she co-wrote with Calvin, the summer smash “This Is What You Came For.”
The move proved too much for Calvin to bear, as he took to Twitter to unleash a rant of epic proportions. Barbs continued to fly when he won “Best Male Video” for the song at the VMAs and conveniently “forgot” to thank Tay in his acceptance speech.
But Taylor just kept keeping on, not-so-subtly reminding us all of her involvement with the song at a Tommy Hilfiger fashion show and later performing it at her one and only concert of the year.
The two have since made nice with one another (though not before Calvin got in one last final dig of a music video — eek!), even going so far as to discuss making potential future hits together, and it seems that now, five months after the breakup, Calvin is finally, FINALLY giving credit where credit is due.
Taking to Twitter to acknowledge the song’s 2X platinum status in the UK (the only song this year to achieve the feat), he gave thanks to the “incredible artists he’s blessed to work with,” including — GASP! — one Miss Taylor Swift.
I am blessed to work with incredible artists @rihanna @taylorswift13 thank you!!! https://t.co/xJrRwrbvr1

Well, we’ll be darned. It looks like somebody finally grew up, eh? Between this and that historic Cubs World Series win, we don’t even know WHAT to think: Everything we thought we knew is a lie!
Kudos, Calvin. It’s about time.
Do you think Calvin was being childish by previously refusing to acknowledge Taylor’s work on the song? Share with us over @BritandCo.
