Kitchen
In any kitchen, an open layout makes the space functional for cooking, but also allows the family to spend time together. Christina loves to cook, so she wanted white countertops that were easy to clean and lots of storage to keep things organized when she’s entertaining.
An all-white kitchen like Christina’s really allows the accessories to shine. Splurge on an Orbit Tatara Gold Cast Iron Teapot ($90) from Teavana and throw down this Urban Outfitter’s Hana Kilim Printed Rug ($34+) to warm up the space just like she did. Dress up your old wooden spoons with that DIY wood-burning technique you learned from Brit + Co and add a few Gray Ombre Striped Kitchen Towels ($5) from World Market to complete the look.
Dining Area
Adding a dining nook made the kitchen an even more appealing place for the whole family to hang out. Instead of buying expensive wall art, the dining nook is only decorated with art by Christina’s daughter — cue the awwwws.
Put together your own dining nook with these Eames Style Molded Plastic Chairs ($110, set of two) by Poly + Bark and a couple of green Jacquard Weave Cushion Covers ($18) from H&M. Bring in a statement light fixture like this 3-Bulb Gold Urchin Pendant Lamp ($350) from Dutton Brown and fill this Decorative Wood Bowl ($35) from Target with everyone’s favorite fruit to lure them into the kitchen.
