Cinesift Is the Netflix-Companion Site You Didn’t Know Your Life Was Missing
You could go to film school — or you could just spend hours trawling this website. Cinesift, a website which premiered earlier this year, is an indispensable tool for anybody with a Netflix account (even if it’s shared!). It was created out of frustration in the Reddit community and is now our new favorite film tool.
The movie database combines data from Rotten Tomatoes, IMDB, Letterboxd and Metacritic to definitively rank the best movies of all time, according to critics. The top rated film is — drum roll, please — The Godfather. Following it are a vast array of films from every era and every corner of the globe.
But the absolute best feature about Cinesift is that it breaks down each film by where it’s streaming. So if you’re looking for the best-rated comedies on Amazon Prime that were made after 1975, you can easily find a list. You can also save, mark as “watched,” or discard any movies that you know you never want to see. You’ll never be able to say “There’s nothing to watch!” ever again.
