Courteney Cox Backs Bestie Jennifer Aniston Amid the Brad and Angelina Divorce
While those involved are trying to keep things relatively private, pretty much everyone else has had something to say about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce. Not only have the two stars themselves released official statements, but those who have been drawn into the sitch have now had their say as well. Brad’s ex, Jennifer Aniston, first commented on the disappointing development, then her hubby, Justin Theroux, decided to say a few things which you might not expect. Now Jen’s BFF, Courteney Cox, has also commented, and she’s all about backing her bestie.
“I feel like we’re exacerbating it by even talking about it,” Courteney initially said while speaking with ET at Tuesday’s Annual Philanthropic Luncheon by Revlon at the Chateau Marmont. Fifty-two-year-old Courteney, who went through her own Hollywood divorce from David Arquette back in 2013, seemed to be speaking not only as a concerned bestie, but also as someone keen to protect her friend.
Courteney continued, referring to the fact that not only is Jen not involved in her ex’s divorce, but also the fact that Brad and Jen split over a decade ago, after just five years of marriage, by simply saying, “It’s not about her.”
Totally true, and top marks for having your bestie’s back.
