Jennifer Lopez, Patricia Arquette, and More Stars Voice Their Support for Demi Lovato
Now that Demi Lovato has spoken out on her reported overdose, fans and fellow celebs are praising the singer for her honesty and showing their support as she faces the next chapter in her road to recovery.
“I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction,” the 25-year-old singer wrote on Instagram on Monday, nearly two weeks after she was first hospitalized. “What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet.”
“I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery,” she continued. “The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side. I will keep fighting.”
Longtime friend Paris Hilton immediately sent her love to Lovato on Twitter, writing, “Love you so much sis,” while actress Patricia Arquette wrote, “Sending you love and strength. The best times are yet to come. I have always found that my friends who have gone through recovery are the most incredible people. #YouAreAGift”

Some of her famous friends — including Jennifer Lopez, who wrote, “Oh baby, sending you love” — showed their support in the comments section of Lovato’s Instagram post. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, for one, noted, “You will come out on the other side. Stay strong, D.”
Others including Luis Fonsi, Ruby Rose, Camila Cabello, and Lilly Singh also shared messages of hope and encouragement for Lovato. And rapper Macklemore reminded the singer that relapses can happen to anyone.
“I’ve relapsed many times,” he wrote. “The recovery community has always welcomed me back with infinite love and support. Always here for you. One day at a time.”
