Gorgeously formatted food magazine Lucky Peach produced a recipe for how to make hot dogs that look like the Disney princess pantheon. Since — as the article put it — “Disney has never created a princess who was a hot dog (dumb, in our opinion),” the food innovators took it upon themselves to craft Rapunzel, Ariel, Belle and Pocahontas as wieners. Here’s one picture but you’ll have to go to the original article to see the rest!
They use crafty ingredients like purple onions, American cheese and barbecue sauce to really bring that Disney magic to life. The article itself is also hilarious. You’ve never read top notch journalism until you’ve read the sentence “Cut a short, one-shouldered dress out of American cheese.”
The article concludes that you can enjoy your royal dog by “imagining them doing all the passive things the original princesses did.” Not to go too deep on a story about weenies but don’t you think this whole project is making a statement on how women are portrayed as pretty pieces of meat so often in media? Chew on that!
Would it be satisfying to put someone who don’t like’s face on a hot dog and just really go to town on it? Tell us in the comments!
