Disney’s LOL App Wants to Make Social Sharing Safe for Kids
While Disney has been delighting us with news of their many upcoming live-action films and Disney park fun (which you can enjoy for half-price if you’re savvy), they’ve also been working on a way for kids and families to enjoy more online content. Their new LOL app is a companion to the Disney LOL site and includes everything little Disney fans need to keep them occupied online. Most of all, it’s a safe place to hang and share socially.
“Bring on the fun! Bring on the weird! Bring on the LOLs!” we’re told via the app’s page, which also gives us a peek at the GIFs, clips, jokes and more that can be enjoyed.
Drawing on the most popular shows and movies for their images, icons and content, this app will keep kiddos busy for, well, as long as you need to keep them occupied.
Free to download for both iOS and Android, the new LOL app is meant to compliment Disney’s existing social media accounts which includes 1.15 billion followers across various platforms.
“By bringing Disney’s social content into the Disney LOL app experience, we’re making it possible for all audiences to access this engaging content,” Disney’s Michael Hundgen explained. “We’re creating content for digitally-native families every day, and these new experiences offer Disney stories and characters in formats that are familiar to our audience and on the devices they use most.”
Ads will appear in order to support the app, but each will be designed by Disney peeps on behalf of the advertisers, which hopefully means they’ll still have that Disney vibe we love.
DL free at: iOS / Android
