We’re not gonna lie: like most fashion girls, we don’t always choose comfort over style when it comes to footwear. It’s one of the hardest lines to walk in fashion (literally), and when it comes down to it — either step out in that died-and-went-to-shoe-heaven pair or get cushy commuter-friendly support — extra bandages or strategic socks usually win out. Not so this spring with the brand-new sandals line from Dr. Scholl’s.
Believe it: as the Huffington Post reports, the foot care authority has broken away from its orthopedic-looking designs with this new trendy line while maintaining the high-quality support you’d expect from a pair of their steppers. Called the Meringue collection, the tick-strapped platform sandals are the kind of shoes you’ll want to wear all through summer (and your feet will love you for it). Everything about their look is so on point, from the sporty-chic feel to contrast sole to the metal buckle that adds a welcome grungy touch. In other words, we can’t believe these are Dr. Scholl’s.
But then we read the specs, which is what really sets these apart from your average cool-girl slides. The double strap Frill Sandal ($88) — a must-have in platinum leather — boasts an anatomical foot bend with supple wide straps that keep your foot snug without pinching, while the cross-banded Flight Sandal ($88) is equipped with soft leather and a flexible foot bend. Click through to Huffington Post to get a sneak peek of other styles from the collection, reportedly rolling out between now and the end of March — just in time for spring break. Happy dance: commence.
