Say Hello To The First Asian-American Gerber Baby
Step aside, Kendall Jenner: There’s a fresh new face in town. A major global brand has just selected its winning model from a photo search that garnered over 170,000 entries. One look into her dimpled smile, and it isn’t hard to understand why.
Seven-month-old Isla Grayson from Troy, Michigan is the newest Gerber baby — and the first Asian-American to be the face of the brand. This means that in addition to being featured in the company’s 2016 campaigns, baby Isla will receive $1,500 worth of Gerber childrenswear and a $50,000 grand prize.
Little Isla is one lucky girl! But according to her mom, Rachael, the young model didn’t need this big win to put a smile on her precious face. “She’s the happiest little baby, she’s always smiling,” Rachael told People magazine. “The smile from the photo is literally on her face all the time!” Awwww!
As Nestle Infant Nutrition’s senior media marketing manager, Bernadette Tortorella, told People: “The photo search is not a beauty contest and we do believe every baby is a Gerber baby, but we fell in love with Isla’s cheeky smile and fun hair!”
So have we, Gerber. So have we.
