Ikea’s “Cook This Page” Makes Cooking New Recipes Easier Than Ever Before
IKEA is known for its modern furniture, innovative designs, and minimalist values, and nothing is a better example of those tendencies than the company’s newest creation: a recipe you can LITERALLY follow step-by-step and put into the oven. If you’re one of those people who struggles with simple kitchen tasks like preparing one-pot dinner recipes and cooking the perfect steak, you’ll definitely want to check this out.
Here’s the long and short of it: A team of designers created a series of posters that are scaled to fit the exact portion sizes you’ll need for each recipe. The ingredients are not only listed at the top of the poster; they’re also given their own designated space on the sheet.
The posters consist of food-grade ink printed on parchment paper, so you can just put all your ingredients right onto the sheet.
After you’ve added all the ingredients into their designated spots, you can roll everything up together and slide the sheet right into the oven. This is about as minimalist as it gets when it comes to cooking. After everything’s cooked, you’ll have a delicious meal ready to go at your fingertips.
Now, before you get too excited, it’s worth noting that Cook This Page (that’s the name of IKEA’s campaign, which was commissioned from design firm Leo Burnett) was only a promotional product that was debuted at an IKEA Kitchen event in Canada, so you can’t find these recipes in stores. But we have a sneaking suspicion that due to their tremendous popularity, the posters may be making a global appearance soon.
