This New Slow Cooker Decal Will Make You Never Forget Jack… Or to Unplug Your Crock-Pot
We may never look at our slow cookers the same way after the horrible (spoiler alert!) death of Jack Pearson on This Is Us. Jack tragically died after forgetting to unplug a slow cooker that then malfunctioned and caught fire. Perhaps it’s no surprise that fans would design a brilliant decal to ensure we think of Jack every time we look at our slow cooker. The new decals trending on Etsy ($6) and Amazon ($8) show Jack (played by Milo Ventimiglia) reminding users to “Unplug me.”
While Crock-Pot’s statement to fans makes it clear that the slow cooker on This Is Us was a vintage model with a history of malfunctioning controls and Ventimiglia even starred in a Crock-Pot Super Bowl ad to reinstate trust in the brand, these decals are a hilarious reminder to abide by basic safety protocols. We still love our slow cookers and don’t necessarily blame them for losing the beloved Pearson patriarch (honestly, it’s not Crock-Pot’s fault). But… we’re also not against getting to look at Jack’s face every time we enter our kitchen. That mustache is everything.
