Kim Kardashian West Is Being Accused of Copying Designs for Her Children’s Line
Brands can’t seem to stop copying each other, and lately, it doesn’t seem to matter whether it’s big brands ripping off smaller ones or big brands ripping off other big brands. This time it’s an individual allegedly copying a couple of big-name designers.
Instagram account @diet_prada is calling out Kim Kardashian West for copying designs from Comme des Garçons x Kosho & Co and Vetements for her own clothing line, Kids Supply.
One of the items, a glittery silver dress, was done by Vetements and West had one created especially for North as it didn’t come in kids’ sizes. However, now she’s selling dupes of the design for children, which is where things get problematic.
The other item Diet Prada cited was a black bomber jacket by Comme des Garçons x Kosho & Co. West claims she was inspired by the design, but her piece is identical to the original, down to the words on the back.

West responded to the accusation, telling Page Six that the designs were meant as an “homage” to the designers and that she and her team had planned on donating the profits to charity even before people noticed the similarities.
According to the team, one hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Donating the funds does lessen the blow a little bit, but there are probably still better solutions than copying outright.
