Kim Kardashian West Says “Never Say Never” When Asked About a Presidential Run
Kanye West has talked about running for president in the past, and it sounds like he might have some competition from his own wife. In a recent interview, Kim Kardashian West said she didn’t have any current plans to get into politics, but isn’t ruling it out, either.
“Oh, I don’t think that’s even on my mind,” Kim said when asked by CNN‘s Van Jones if she would ever run for president. The host then pointed to the example that if fellow reality TV star Donald Trump could take office, she possibly could, too.
“I guess never say never,” the KKW Beauty boss then said — but she made it clear that was not an official announcement. “That’s not going to be like a ‘Kim’s running!'” she joked. “That’s not where I’m — what I’m going for.”
The KUWTK star made headlines in recent weeks when she met with President Trump to request that Alice Marie Johnson be released from a lifetime prison sentence for a first-time, non-violent drug offense. Shortly after, the president offered Johnson clemency, commuting her sentence but not issuing her a full pardon. The 63-year-old had been behind bars since 1996.
“I just want to help, starting one person at a time,” Kim continued on CNN. “I think sometimes if more people would just put their personal feelings aside and talk about real issues that have to be discussed, then so much more can get done.”
