Kristen Bell and Josh Gad became one of our favorite Disney pairs when they voiced Anna and Olaf in 2013’s Frozen, and now they’re set to team up again for a new animated project.
E! News reports that Bell and Gad have signed on for an Apple series called Central Park. According to E!, Twentieth Century Fox Television is behind the animated musical, which will tell the tale of a family of caretakers who not only live and work in the park, but also end up saving it (and the world).
In addition to Bell and Gad, the series will feature the voices of Leslie Odom Jr. (Murder on the Orient Express), Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Stanley Tucci (The Hunger Games), Daveed Diggs (Ferdinand), Rory O’Malley (Dreamgirls), and Kathryn Hawn (Transparent).
Gad took to Twitter to express his excitement over the new series, writing, “It doesn’t get much cooler than this. So excited to be bringing the world this new musical series alongside a legend named @lorenbouchard and my idols, @IMKristenBell @leslieodomjr @DaveedDiggs @TitussBurgess @RoryOMalley #kathrynhahn and #stanleytucci.”
Frozen fans may remember that Kristen Bell and Josh Gad have a special relationship off-screen as well. When Gad’s family found themselves in trouble due to Hurricane Irma last September, Bell swept in to save the day.
“So @kristenanniebell literally saved my parents and my entire family tonight from #hurricaneirma,” Gad shared on Instagram at the time. “When they were stranded in Florida, she got them a hotel room at her hotel in Orlando and saved them, my brothers, my sister-in-law, and niece and nephew. They don’t make them like this girl. Thank you Kristen. You are truly an angel sent from above.”
We can’t wait to see, or hear, these two IRL friends together again.
