You Can Now Purchase Marilyn Monroe’s Beloved Brentwood Villa
Marilyn Monroe gave us inspiration for Halloween costumes, a weird Hollywood diet, and now, a $6.9 million home to gawk at. Located in Brentwood, California, the one-story, Spanish-style house was the first (and only) property the Some Like It Hot actress bought and lived in on her own — and now it’s up for sale. Monroe once told a reporter that she would get along with anyone who loved her home — and really, how could you not fall in love with it? The home boasts a fab pool setup, a citrus grove, a beautiful kitchen, and even the courtyard and garden preserved from Monroe’s day. Scroll down for a few sneak peeks, then head over to Mercer Vine to drool over the rest of the pictures!
The white stucco walls, terra cotta tile floors, and vaulted wooden ceilings are all original and give the home a sense of warmth and comfort. There’s also a guest house on the property that Monroe sweetly kept prepped for last-minute visitors who just needed to get away from it all.
While the kitchen has been updated, the listing says that many of the design elements chosen by Monroe are still intact. And even though the Gentleman Prefer Blondes actress only lived there for four months before she died, it’s full of her touches. Tiles, tin masks, mirrors, and textiles from Monroe’s trips to Mexico adorn the bachelorette pad.
You can almost picture her posing on a deck chair by this pool, can’t you?
