This Weird Silver Powder Works Wonders on Pores
I hate pore strips (I cringe at the thought of pulling the hard, crusty mask off in one painful swoop) — but I am all about cleaning and minimizing pores. Thankfully, I discovered a product that gets the job done but is nothing like the dreaded skin-stripping experience.
I’m obsessed AF with Mario Badescu Silver Powder ($12) for its skin-clearing powder. The silver powder cleanses and removes blackheads but doesn’t hurt when you take it off — and it’s pretty fun to use, TBH. You apply it by dipping a damp cotton ball into the powder, then pressing it onto areas you want to de-gunk. It’s kinda like painting your face. Read on to see why I love this weird silver powder.
It’s seriously effective. The ingredients (there are only three, FYI) help soak up oil and pull dirt and grime from deep inside your pores. Once it’s done working its magic, it even decreases future oil production to keep burgeoning breakouts at bay.
It’s affordable. A pack of 24 pore strips costs about $15, which is more than the entire jar of silver powder — but you’ll get a ton more uses out of this go-to. Another benefit is that you have total control of how much product you use, so if you want to layer it on thick, go ahead!
It’s pain-free. While the powder does dry similar to a pore strip, removing it is totally chill. It easily peels off of your skin but is still slightly rubbery, so it doesn’t feel like ripping off a Band-Aid.
