See Melissa McCarthy’s New Holiday Collection at Lane Bryant
Gift-giving season is almost here, and you’re probably already making a list and checking it twice. If you’re looking for things to buy your mom, sister, grandma, friend or yourself (it’s totally okay to get yourself a gift during the holidays!), Lane Bryant’s new holiday collection from actress Melissa McCarthy might just be your answer.
You know Melissa as the hilarious comedian in movies such as Bridesmaids and Identity Thief, but before you write her off as just another celeb with a clothing line, know that Melissa actually attended the Fashion Institute of Technology and says it has been her lifelong dream to be a fashion designer. Just this summer, Melissa debuted her first collection, Melissa McCarthy Seven7, with an initial rollout at Nordstrom and HSN. Unlike her previous collection, this new holiday assortment (of the same name) is exclusively available at Lane Bryant, according to Bustle.
In addition to creating impressive designs, Melissa is on a mission to banish the term plus size. “I just think, if you’re going to make women’s clothing, make women’s clothing,” she told news outlets this summer. “Designers that put everyone in categories are over-complicating something that should be easy.” Wise words, Melissa.
The pieces range from cozy ponchos to graphic blouses to silky tees and reflect Melissa’s stellar style sense. She’s even designed some classic denim styles that you can wear regardless of the season. Not only is everything versatile and comfy-looking, but we have to say these items are also just plain stylish.
