Sephora’s New Minnie Mouse Collection Will Make Your Inner 7-Year-Old Totally Freak Out
Minnie Mouse is really having a moment. She already inspired two Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s collections, plus she was the headliner for “Minnie Rocks the Dots,” a two-day interactive fashion and art installation all about her signature style (AKA polka dots) at The Paper Agency in LA last month. Now makeup giant Sephora is rolling out a Minnie-themed collection that will make you the happiest girl on earth (and you won’t even have to go to Disney world!)
The Disney Minnie by Sephora Collection is set to come out in April, and will have seven individual pieces that are all truly, completely Minnie: big polka dots, red, black and, of course, those amazing ears. Buyers can get a Black & White Felt Liner Duo ($22), which has two liquid eyeliners in black and white, a Minnie’s Inner Glow Luminizer Blush ($22), a six-piece brush set in black and gold, a lip stain set and an eyeshadow palette with 20 shades, plus Minnie’s Perfect Red Lipstick ($15) which is not only a gorgeous shade but also has a tiny embossed Minnie Mouse silhouette on it. Such impressive details! And there is also an adorable gold compact mirror in the shape of Minnie’s ears and signature bow. Your inner seven-year-old girl just screamed in glee!
Minnie has been a fashion and beauty influence since she was introduced to the world way back in 1928. Even though she was in black and white at first, Minnie always rocked bold fashions with her pillbox hat, and then eventually that famous bow. When she came into color we got to see her strong affinity for polka dots and black and red color combos. Celebrities such as Katy Perry, Sarah Jessica Parker and, of course, LC, have been inspired by her style.
“Minnie Mouse has long served as a fashion muse and appeared in runway shows for designers around the globe,” said Soo Koo, vice president of product development, Disney Consumer Products in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily. “Her classic polka dot look has been continually reimagined by the fashion industry through the decades and continues to drive trends today.” And we are so glad they do, ’cause we are all about this makeup collection!
