Your Nighttime Workouts Just Got a Whole Lot Safer
For all you 9 to 5ers out there, finding time to work out can be tough — and if you don’t have a gym membership, it’s even harder. Sure, you can get up before work to sneak in a run or bike ride, but lets be honest, most of us opt for an extra hour of snooze time in the AM. So that leaves us with one option: a nighttime workout, which can be dangerous, especially post-daylight savings. Hi-Viz garments can be helpful but also uncomfortable and unfashionable — but it seems that might not be the case for long.
Nightro Athletic is a Sydney-based startup that has designed a safer way to run at night. They combined wearable LED lights and a Reflective Tech Zebra Pattern to allow 360 degree visibility without compromising comfort and style. The LED light sits comfortably over your shoulder and will blink white on your chest and glow red on your back, just like a car or bike light. If you decide to wear the top during the day, the light is easily removable.
The shirt comes in blue, white, yellow and pink with a matching luminescent zebra pattern. Along the bottom hem of the shirt you’ll find a lightweight battery pack, which keeps the LED light powered.
Currently Nightro Athletic in the midst of a Kickstarter campaign. So far they’ve reached 25% of their $40,000 goal, with a few weeks to go. If you want the shirt ASAP, you can snag one in the rewards section for $64. If you’re strapped for cash but want to help you can donate $1 and Nightro Athletic will send you a 30-minute digital soundtrack for running. Not too shabby for a buck.
