OMG! A Friends Musical Is Coming to Broadway
We’ve been loving reliving the ‘90s by re-watching all of our fave Friends episodes on Netflix — not to mention getting totally caught up in Matthew Perry’s very Chandler-like beef with everyone’s current political crush, Justin Trudeau. But now, even if it “hasn’t been your day, your week, your month, or even your year,” you can get to know your fave Central Perk gang again with a brand new Friends-inspired musical.
It’s a project from the creators of Bayside! the Musical!, 90210! The Musical!, Katdashians! The Musical!, and Full House! The Musical!, and these folks are apparently pros at taking pop culture to the stage. That’s why we’re totally thrilled that they’re taking on Friends! The Musical!, an unofficial parody of the super popular sitcom. The two hour-long production will feature some of the series’ most memorable scenes including “The Only Coffee Shop in New York,” “Oh. My God. It’s Janice!,” “The One Where We Make a Million Dollars an Episode” (teehee), and (arg) “The Ballad of Fat Monica.”
Set to premiere this fall, we can’t wait to see if it’s an unexpected hit or as stinky as Smelly Cat.
