  • whatever apples, or mix of apples, you like to bake with, peeled, cored and cut into medium chunks  ( 3 pounds )
  • lemon juice  ( 2 tablespoons )
  • sugar  ( 3 tablespoons )
  • cornstarch  ( 2 tablespoons )
  • cinnamon  ( 1 teaspoon )
  • salt 
  • unsalted butter  ( 1 stick (8 tablespoons or 4 ounces) )
  • honey  ( 1/4 cup )
  • flour  ( 1/2 cup )
  • oats  ( 2 cups )
  • sliced almonds  ( 1/2 cup )
  • shredded coconut (sweetened or unsweetened, as you wish; I used unsweetened)  ( 1/2 )
