Pies and DIYs: Mother’s Day Edition
Welcome to another episode of Pies + DIYs! I’m sure you can guess what this series is all about — doing DIYs while eating pie :) You can tune in every Wednesday to pick what DIY project I (Kelly) will make LIVE! I only have three tools and six materials to work with to create the DIY of your choice. Hope to see you all there!
In this episode we made a little something for our Mamas. We used one of our favorite materials — leather — to make a credit card wallet and a tassel keychain. Leather can be a tricky material to work with, but it’s so polished that it will elevate any DIY and make it look store-bought.
For the credit card wallet, fold the leather in half and then cut out a rectangle that is slightly larger than the size of a credit card. Use a leather punch to create six holes on each side. Use two pieces of embroidery floss plus a needle to whip stitch the sides of the wallet closed. Ta-da! You just made your mom a wallet.
If a tassel keychain is more your style, you can follow my on the fly DIY style tassel above, or take a look at this DIY leather tassel tutorial on Brit + Co.
Thanks for watching and we’ll see you next week!
