Pies + DIYs: Cinco de Mayo Piñata and Flower Crown!
Welcome to another episode of Pies + DIYs! I’m sure you can guess what this series is all about — doing DIYs while eating pie :) You can tune in every Wednesday to pick what DIY project I (Kelly) will make LIVE! I only have three tools and six materials to work with to create the DIY of your choice. Hope to see you all there!
In this episode we started getting ready for Cinco de Mayo and made party decorations. I made a cactus piñata out of a toilet paper tube while Sean made flowers for a Frida Kahlo-inspired floral crown. To make the cactus piñata, make a large knot in a piece of string, make a small hole in a tissue paper circle, and then thread the string through the tissue paper. The bigger the knot the easier it will be for your candy to fall out — we learned this the hard way (haha). Glue the tissue paper to the bottom of the toilet paper tube and then dress up the outside with fringed tissue paper. Turn it into a cactus by adding paper arms covered in tissue paper fringe.

Thanks for watching and we’ll see you next week!
