Pokémon Go Creators Are Reportedly Ready to Take On Game of Thrones
Pokémon Go has taken the world by storm, with everyone trying to capture them all. Even celebrities have gotten in on the Pokémon fun, which is why it shouldn’t be surprising that the game has already sparked hilarious Pokémon Go memes, a Pokémon Go dating service and even the possibility of a Harry Potter version of the wildly popular app. If you’ve been one of the few who’s been holding out, you may not be able to do so anymore, as the Pokémon peeps apparently have their eyes on one of your fave shows: Game of Thrones.
Chatting with GameStop, a product marketer for Niantic, the company that created the viral game, revealed that a Game of Thrones version of Pokémon Go could involve “a board game you could make in the real world where people are capturing locations like Risk or something.”
Although the idea isn’t directly connected with GOT at the moment, the rep added: “My personal fantasy is like a Game of Thrones game where Westeros is mapped out on Earth and you join House Stark or whatever.”
This sounds like an amazingly fun idea (even if it is just hypothetical or in the planning stage) that definitely needs to happen ASAP, especially since we’ll be waiting an extended period for the next season of Game of Thrones.
