See a Fave Target Collaborator’s New MAC Collection
First it was Nasty Gal, then it was Miley (and that’s just in October) — MAC is keeping its collabs a-coming, just in time for holiday shopping… and more importantly, holiday parties. In June, fashion designer Prabal Gurung announced his partnership with the mega beauty brand, and the official launch took place in Paris earlier this week. You might recognize his name from his coveted Target collaboration, featuring skirts, dresses, tops and accessories in neon florals and strappy heels with sleek lines.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Prabal revealed his inspiration for selecting the shades for his line — his mom. “I still remember her vanity case. She’d come back from work and sit in front the mirror to get ready. I think one of the most powerful things that a woman has is that quiet time. It’s a process of transformation, of gaining confidence. One particular thing that stands out is the red lipstick that she would wear.” And a few swipes of the collection’s superpower red lipstick, “Carmine Rouge,” will definitely make a statement.
As expected, this ultra-luxe makeup will cost you a pretty penny. In fact, this is the most expensive line MAC has ever released. A trio of bronzing powder, a cream color base and a brush will cost you $70. Lip and eyeliner pencils are MAC standard at $20, but eyeshadow duo palettes will set you back $40 and lipsticks and glosses from the collection come in at $30. If you don’t have a Vogue budget, consider adding your favorites to your wish list instead of the shopping cart.
What do you think about this high-fashion MAC collab? Are you in or are you out?
