If you are looking for slow cooker recipes, most any crock pot recipe will also work for a slow cooker, because a crock pot is essentially a type of slow cooker that has a ceramic interior. Here are 12 recipes for everyday dinners that will work in either a crock pot or a slow cooker.
Slow cookers are known to be great for soups and stews, but they can do a lot more than that. Leg of lamb anyone? Just in time for Easter brunch, here’s a recipe for the slow cooker that will free you up to mingle with your guests while it’s cooking. Over at Kitchen Delights, Maggie is cooking up slow cooker lamb. She gets the most flavorful result by searing the meat first, before putting it in the pot. Some might say this defeats the purpose of one-pot cooking, but we agree with Maggie. Searing at a high heat gives the meat more complex caramelized flavors. Way more flavorful than if you just steamed or boiled the meat, which is essentially what you are doing if you just put meat in a slow cooker with some liquids without first searing.
