This ‘Station 19’ Season 2 Promo Is Almost *Too* Intense
Season 1 of Station 19 ended on a cliffhanger, with several characters — including Travis Montgomery (Jay Hayden), Jack Gibson (Grey Damon), Vic Hughes (Barrett Doss), and Ben Warren (Jason George) — trapped in a burning skyscraper, their lives hanging in the balance all through the offseason. Now, finally, we’re just weeks away from rejoining the crew and learning their fates. But having seen this intense new teaser from ABC, we don’t know if we’re ready.

The promo, which the show’s Twitter account posted on Thursday, September 20, picks up where season 1 left off, with the Station 19 team battling the skyscraper blaze and trying to rescue its occupants — and each other — from disaster. Outside, the chief states that no one is allowed to reenter the building. Inside, it’s chaos.
“Mayday! Copy Mayday!” Andy (Jaina Lee Ortiz) yells into her radio. “There’s been an explosion. A firefighter’s trapped!”
Multiple firefighters, in fact. As the chief warns emergency responders that the structure is not sound, we see flashes of Andy and Ben fighting for their lives and the lives of their friends, as well as quick shots of Dr. DeLuca (Giacomo Gianiotti), Dr. Bailey (Chandra Wilson), and two firefighters carrying someone out of the building.
“It wasn’t supposed to be like this,” Ben says with tears in his eyes.
Jason George, who made the switch from Grey’s Anatomy to Station 19 last spring, teased some of the drama to come in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. “Lives hang in the balance; the building’s coming down. It’s the worst situation you’ve seen on Station 19 so far,” he warned. “Nobody’s quite the same. The repercussions are still being felt for many, many episodes. We’re still playing out some of those storylines [right now].”
Season 2 of Station 19 premieres on Thursday, October 4 at 9pm on ABC.
