This Is the Best-Looking Garbage Can You’ll Ever Trash
It’s a struggle to find a waste bin that doesn’t, well, look like a waste bin. But when it’s time to elevate from those wire mesh cans you can get for $2 at IKEA, there aren’t many fashion-forward designs out there. That is, until now. (Cue the “dun, dun, dunnnn” music!)
The “Swing Bin,” which is currently vying for attention on Kickstarter, is a sculptural piece that also functions as a waste bin. It’s an unadorned cylinder in black or white, with a diagonal cut wooden lid.
The beauty and simplicity of this must-have is in the way the lid is cut to balance perfectly on top of the basket. It’s easily removed and swings forward at the slightest touch, then quickly comes to rest when not in use.
It’s an elegant way to hide your trash, and we don’t know about you, but that sounds like something we all could use. And while we don’t foresee the Swing Bin serving much of a purpose in a kitchen, we can definitely picture it as a stylish addition to an office, bedroom, bathroom, or even a nursery.
You can snag a Swing Bin for your office for a $60 pledge right now, but the project is still $45,000 away from its goal. Surely we can’t be the only ones looking for ways to make that dirty little necessity a little more stylish. Guess it’s true what they say: one woman’s trash is another’s (crowdfunded) treasure.
What do you think? Does this bin have a place in your home, or are good old-fashioned plastic bins just fine for you? Tell us in the comments!
