This Photo of an Enterprise Employee Helping a Mom in Need Will Give You All the Feels
With all that’s going on in the world, keeping up with the news is proving to be an increasingly heart-breaking exercise. Staying far away from social media almost seems like the best option (especially when you factor in that it can help you get a better night’s sleep!). Then, you come across a story like Coty Vincent’s, and everything changes.
With her kids in tow and no double stroller in sight, this mother of young twin boys found herself in a predicament at a Tulsa Enterprise, when she was looking to rent a car after after a hit-and-run accident that left her sans wheels. Now, as you can probably imagine, trying to wrangle a young boy in your arms while keeping your eye on his brother AND filling out the necessary paperwork to get said car might be a tad tricky. Enter John Goodlett, the most amazing, kind-hearted Enterprise employee (and human being!) on the planet.
An Enterprise employee by the name of John went above and beyond to help Coty in her time of need, holding one of her boys so she could focus on the task at hand. Lucky for us, Coty wasted no time sharing the touching story on Facebook, along with a snap of John with her son.
“One of the most compassionate and caring people I’ve ever met. We need more people like John who go that extra step. Be a John,” she wrote in the caption.
But the story doesn’t end there! While helping the mom of two with her rental application, John revealed that — get this! — he’s also a twin, and told the boys all about being BFFs with his twin sister.
Coty updated her viral post yesterday, letting everyone know that John’s kind gesture did not go unnoticed by Enterprise. “I just received a call from the Enterprise Branch Manager, Marlyn Jones, and he was excited to hear about this going viral,” she wrote. “He said this kind selfless act has gone to the Corporate level and magic is in the making! Lets hope John gets the recognition he deserves!”
Boy did he ever: Coty updated again to say that “Molly Boland and Greg from Corporate Headquarters have called me as well and have a surprise in the works! Enterprise has purchased me a double stroller and has a surprise for John too.”
The company confirmed the update on their own Facebook page, posting a pic of of Coty’s boys’ new ride.
“We couldn’t let this touching story go unnoticed, so we picked up a few special deliveries,” they wrote. “A new ride for the twins is on the way, as well as something for both Coty and John. We’re so proud of all of our team members who help take care of our customers each day by going the extra mile.”
Coty was beyond excited, as she revealed just what a huge impact this small but totally touching gesture will have on her day-to-day outings with her boys: “I have been confined to my home and grocery store trips by myself for the past 11 months. This stroller will give us a whole new take on life!”
We have to say, we’re really keeping our fingers crossed for #BeAJohn to start trending, inspiring folks all across the country to take part in (and share!) more everyday acts of kindness. We need more Johns in the world.
