United’s Airport Comfort Dogs Are the Best Thing to Happen to Holiday Travel
Airports during the holidays are actually the worst. Long lines at security, weather delays, accidentally getting on the wrong plane and ending up with a room at The Plaza Hotel in NYC… Oh wait, that’s the plot of Home Alone 2. If you’re about to make your way home for holidays, and totally dreading the trek, we have some news that might actually make you excited to head to the airport. Yes, really.
If you’re traveling with United Airlines through Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark or Washington/Dulles airports, the United Paws Program will have 230 comfort dogs available for petting and face licking after you’ve passed through security. We repeat: comfort dogs. The trained pups (mostly golden retrievers) are said to be scattered throughout the participating airports and concentrated mostly in United gates.
This genius program is running through tomorrow, December 23. So, if you were super stressed about the horror that’s sure to be your Christmas flight, just arrive five minutes early for a serious cuddle sesh. Afterwards, that dude in front of you who decides to recline his seat all the way back might not seem so bad.
