Megababe Helen Mirren Could Star in Disney’s Newest Remake
Disney’s really been changing it up lately with the live-action adaptations. This year alone, we’ve been patiently waiting for their Beauty and the Beast remake, which stars Emma Watson, as well as a live-action Pete’s Dragon. Now, news is that the ageless, timeless, megababe Helen Mirren may be on her way to star in Disney’s most recent in-production feature, The Nutcracker, costarring Keira Knightly.
The Nutcracker is only one of many live-action remakes Disney has in the works. They’ve been taking about remaking all sorts of our faves from childhood, banking on nostalgia turning into box-office gold. This one will also feature superstar ballerina Misty Copeland, as well as Morgan Freeman.
While we don’t yet know what part Helen will be playing, we bet she’ll exceed our expectations in this feature. We’re also expecting at least a little bit of dancing with Misty in the movie. I mean, how could they not? The film’s title is The Nutcracker and the Four Realms and is currently in pre-production.
Disney’s also slated to remake Mulan, Peter Pan, a standalone Tinkerbell movie, Winnie the Pooh and even Pinnocchio. It’s only a matter of time before we see live action Frozen or Tangled, right?
