WTF: Solo Weddings Are a Thing?!
We’re going to tell you about something and then you are going to be like, “STOP.” This is, without a doubt, one of the craziest things we’ve heard about recently (or maybe ever). A Japanese travel company, Cera Travel, has started a solo wedding service for single women who still want to try on dresses, get dolled up and stand next to a stranger “groom” for a photo shoot.
The service is marketed toward busy businesswomen “who have decided to pursue careers instead of follow the traditional Japanese route of getting married.” The on-staff planner will take care of all the details. All you have to do is show up.
Based in Kyoto, the two-day trip involves dress fittings, bouquet selection, fancy hotels, the whole caboodle. Daily Mail reports that the package costs about $2,750 and so far 10 women have participated. 10!!
What is even happening right now. Explain it to us in the comments below.
