Zendaya Had *This* to Say to the Girl Who Got in Trouble at School for Copying Her Look
While there are plenty of celebs whose style we can *totally* see resulting in a dress code violation IRL — Kim Kardashian’s ultra-naked dress, for instance, or J. Lo’s cut-to-there stage look — the star-inspired ensemble that actually DID land high school senior Hannah Whitley in hot water at school earlier this week blew our minds.
The young fashionista uploaded a shot of herself to Twitter on Wednesday in a darling pair of comfy Urban Outfitters pants, pointy Old Navy flats, and a striped tank over a plain black one that had her twinning with none other than former Disney star Zendaya. In fact, girl nailed it!
When you just wanna look like @Zendaya but you get a dress code violation for being too provocative🤔 #senioryearblues pic.twitter.com/qrrLmUONfe

Unfortunately, her principal wasn’t quite so appreciative of her fashion-forward getup. “When you just wanna look like @zendaya but you get a dress code violation for being too provocative,” the teen wrote, adding “#seniorblues.”
What’s worse, Whitley said that she hadn’t actually broken any rules to warrant the punishment. “I actually broke no official rules,” she tweeted one user by way of explanation. “My principal was insinuating that I wore that outfit to get attention from boys.” WHOA.
No- I actually broke no official rules. My principle was insinuating I wore that outfit to get attention from boys –

If you’re scratching your head right about now, you’re not alone: Her tweet was liked more than 11,000 times, with nearly 800 shares to speak of thanks to outraged parties who failed to see what the fuss was about.

KC Undercover star Zendaya herself also made her thoughts on the matter known, tweeting, “Provocative… where??? You look amazing.” YASSSSSSS!

The tweet meant everything to Whitley, who said that her outlook on the experience has changed since going viral.

“Initially shamed, but now empowered!!” she wrote.
Welp. It appears Zendaya’s work here is done.
