Bacon Donut Sliders Are Now a Thing and Here’s Where You Can Find Them

Ah, summer. The season of outdoor barbecues, ice cream everything and… oh yeah, state fairs. And what would a trip to the state fair be without chowing down on something deep-fried and ridiculous? If you’re looking to expand past funnel cakes and churros, the Minnesota State Fair is offering up a novel twist on state fair foods this year. Introducing… candied bacon donut sliders.

The annual fair, which is famous for their insane culinary creations, introduced this indulgent snack alongside 32 dishes today. The website describes the sliders as “Sliced glazed donut holes with thick candied bacon and a chocolate red wine ganache.” Wow. Okay. We’re in.

If you’re looking to really go hard at the fair this year, a few other notable offerings are: spam sushi, deep-fried grilled cheese bites, cheesy french onion monkey bread and macaroni and cheese curds.

And for all you ultra foodie fair goers, you’ll also find an ice cream dish called the “Carpe Diem” that consists of a “Taiyaki (fish-shaped) buttermilk miso waffle cone filled with balsamic-roasted strawberry compote and topped with vanilla ice cream, graham cracker crumble and a fresh strawberry.”

The Minnesota State Fair is set to take place August 25 through Labor Day. We’ll go ahead and start our pre-fair health kick now.
