The Flirty Lace Dress Hack You Need to Get Ready for Vacay

I don’t know about you, but I’ve seen SO many cute dresses out there lately! Spring floral dresses, cold-shoulder dresses, pinafores, and festival styles: I love them all! The only problem with many pieces on the market is that they’re a little too short for my liking. Standing up, they’re an okay length, but if you try to walk, photograph, or simply sit down, they just don’t work for me. So I got this idea to just sew a lace trim to the lining of the dress and have it hang down the top part of it. Cute and clever, right? Also love the boho vibes this hack adds to the dress!

Materials and Tools:

Instructions:

1. Take your lace trim and place it all along the dress’s bottom edge. Then pin all around.

2. Carefully sew the trim in place.

3. Join the side ends of the lace trim and sew together.

4. Cut out the excess.

Lengthening a too-short dress or skirt is really easy. First, take your lace trim and place it all along the dress’s bottom edge. Pin all around and sew in place. Choose a medium-to-small stitch and go slowly as you sew your line. Finally, sew the side ends of the lace trim and cut out the excess. You’re done!

We’re all about the simplicity of this breezy look. Perfect for springtime, festival season, and upcoming vacay as well ;)
