This Is the One Snack Tracy Anderson Always Travels With

Celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson is no stranger to frequent jet-setting. With studios in California, New York, and Spain — not to mention various other engagements and experiences she is part of, including one with Westin Hotels for their Goop collab, G. Sport Sessions — it’s not uncommon for her to travel to three countries and four cities within the span of three days.

Staying on top of your workouts and fitness routine while on the road can be challenging, even if you’re a professional trainer. Anderson says, “There is nothing you can put in your suitcase to make sure that you show up.” Instead, she believes attitude is everything, and that you need to make a conscious effort to take care of yourself and your body.

But one cannot subsist on positive attitudes alone. For fueling her body in a healthy way, there’s one thing that Anderson always has with her: organic chocolate. “Because chocolate can make any woman happy in any circumstance,” she says. It goes beyond that; “Half a chocolate bar is going to talk to your brain, is going to make you happy, is going to chill you out, and it’s just pure chocolate, so your body converts it into energy faster and better than it does other things.”

Anderson also knows that travel can stress out your body and brain, leaving you more susceptible to making regrettable food decisions, like succumbing to the overpowering scent of Cinnabon in the airport or hitting up the first hot dog cart you find on the street. She makes sure she carries foods with her that are easily transportable and good for the body, such as GoMacro bars (she opts for ones with protein like the peanut butter + chocolate chip ones) and Matt’s Munchies, which are basically organic fruit rolls that are made consciously. Anderson admits she has to use some packaged foods when she travels, because “Who wants to break out a hard-boiled egg that’s been mushed in your bag for a car ride?” But she tries to choose her brands carefully.

So take it from Anderson, who has trained countless bodies all over the world: You can have your (organic) chocolate, and eat it too. Happy snacking!
